It’s scary to think about how much money Google sets aside for April Fool’s Day, with at least a dozen pranks put into play this year. But, hey, they get us talking… and laughing. Here are five favorites.
1. YouTube’s viral video trends for 2014
Hilarious “trends” include clocking, finish lining, butter fails, baby shaming, flash mob divorces and the “Glub Glub Water Dance”. Don’t know what some of these mean? You will after watching this video. LOL.
2. Auto Awesome Photobombs
Make your pic a little more #Hoffsome with Auto Awesome Photobombs. Through Google+, you can get a celebrity photobomb, starting with David Hasselhoff. Upload a new self-portrait, or a group photo with friends, and leave some room for The Hoff.
3. On-screen Cat Keyboard
You or your cat can install the kitty keyboard and try these features:
- Four pawing modalities using your trackpad or touchscreen
- Mouse mode
- Cat translation technology (beta)

“I’ve always been a big fan of honking, but honking only takes you so far.”
If you have an AdWords account, then you saw this new format option yesterday, in which Google says “you can take your campaign to new heights by placing ads on real birds.” A more gullible fellow posted this on the Google AdWords Community board:
“We’re finding the lowest CPC (cost per cluck) is with the pigeon but are having trouble attaching messages to the sparrow.”
