7 Common Household Problems Fixed With… Toothpaste? Yup!

Baking soda and vinegar aren’t the only household Jacks-of-all-trades. I was amazed that toothpaste could be used in so many different ways around the house.

1. Chrome Cleaner
Get rid of those faucet water spots by rubbing some Crest on them with a soft cloth, then rinse with water.

2. Defog Those Goggles

Not limited to ski goggles, this works great for swimming and motorcycle goggles as well.

3.  Polishing Silver

Why spend money on toxic smelling silver cleaner when your flatware can be minty fresh?

4. Hand Freshener

The stuff that zaps your onion breath also does a number on those pungent odors from peeling shrimp (and again, onions) that regular hand soap can’t seem to eliminate.

5. DVD Scratch Remover

Before you trash that scratched up copy of Seven that keeps skipping right when Brad Pitt sees what’s in the box, try a tiny dab of toothpaste with a microfiber cloth.

6. Shower Door Scum Buster

Unless you’re enjoying the privacy that scum has afforded you, make your shower door see-through again with some toothpaste and a damp cloth. For extra stubborn stains, let the toothpaste sit awhile before wiping it off.

7. iPhone Screen Saver

For light scratches on your smartphone screen, lightly rub on some toothpaste with a cotton cloth and then use a second cloth to wipe it clean.
