Um, excuse me?
On the Boomer and Carton radio show this week, former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason was not afraid to tell listeners what he thought about Mets 2nd baseman Daniel Murphy, who missed two games this week to be with his wife for the birth of his son.
Esiason said he thought it was in the child’s best interest for Murphy to play ball rather than be with his wife. Um, okay, I suppose that’s up for debate. But where he truly crossed the line was when he suggested that Murphy should have insisted his wife get a C-section as to not get in the way of Opening Day.

And radio host Mike Francesca expressed similar sentiments, “I don’t know why you need three days off, I’m going to be honest. You see the birth and you get back. What do you do in the first couple days? Maybe you take care of the other kids. Well, you gotta have someone to do that if you’re a Major League Baseball player. I’m sorry, but you do … Your wife doesn’t need your help the first couple days, you know that.”
Do you think Murphy made the right call?
