In military slang, predator drone operators often refer to kills as “bug splats”.
A group of artists want to change this and hopefully save some lives with #NotABugSplat, a project that puts a face on the many innocent people killed as a result of these attacks.
This giant poster features a child victim of a drone attack in the bomb ridden region of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa in Pakistan. Now, when this spot is seen through a drone camera, it’s not just a dot, but an image of a real child who lost both her parents and two young siblings in a drone attack.
You can follow the group’s efforts through the hashtag #NotABugSplat.
